Emmanuel is thirteen years old, lives in a small village in Alsace and sees Hubert, the village priest, as a friend he can confide in. But one rainy afternoon, he leaves the presbytery, promising never to tell anyone what happened there. Thirty years later, Emmanuel sits in a police interrogation room and tells his story. It is a journey to the past and the present, to his father and to himself. The power of speech reveals what has long been repressed and the desire for healing beyond revenge.

Claudia Marschal
In her films, Claudia Marschall documents the search for identity - even if it is not her own - and tries to answer the question: 'Who am I?' Whether it is a small town in rural Texas searching for its Alsatian DNA in LA BAS (2010), a VW bus tracing its identity as a cult vehicle in I AM KOMBI (2012) or two sisters torn between Bosnia-Herzegovina and France in DANS NOTRE PARADIS (2019).
After years abroad - in Borneo, the UK, the Czech Republic and Tunisia - Claudia Marschall studied documentary film at the École documentaire de Lussas. It was at this unusual place of study in rural seclusion that she developed her subjective, investigative view and her own narrative style. She lives in Paris.
