In the southern West Bank, in the villages of Masafer Yatta, a Palestinian-Israeli film collective documents the daily resistance against the threat of expulsion by the Israeli government. The systematic destruction of Palestinian villages is accompanied by protests from the population - and violence from the settlers. At the heart of the film is the fragile but determined friendship between Palestinian activist Basel and Israeli journalist Yuval. With haunting clarity, the film tells a story of solidarity in difficult circumstances, giving a voice to those whose reality otherwise remains invisible. A moving testament to civil society's commitment to ending the occupation and promoting humanity. - Oscar for Best Documentary 2025.
