What did you dream last night, Parajanov?

  • Faraz Fesharaki

Mitra, Hasan and Faraz talk. About the most mundane things. About the experiences of the day, about chance encounters on a walk and about memories from the past. We immerse ourselves in the intimate universe of a family separated by location: Faraz is in Berlin, his parents Mitra and Hasan in Isfahan. 4000 kilometers separate them, the webcam connects them. Their everyday conversations lead from harmless matters to deeply touching ones, abruptly and without excitement. We hear about the recent snowfall, then about the summer heat and also that Mitra spent two years in prison. Much becomes present, but remains unspoken. And Cousin Rahi asks Faraz what he dreamed and we even learn his recipe for toast with mozzarella and egg. Despite the mostly blurred, occasionally pixelated images, they remain close.
