17-year-old Ze leads a double life. Like other teenagers, he conforms to the academic pressure of modern Mongolian society, is a son and a brother. But something sets him apart from others. He has had a supernatural gift since childhood. Ze communicates with the spirits of his ancestors and, as a shaman, he is a spiritual advisor to his neighbors. Then he is called to visit Maralaa, who has a heart condition and is skeptical of archaic rituals. This encounter triggers profound changes in Ze's life. He visits her in hospital, takes her out into the city and friendship turns into affection, then into a first love. They dream of the future, of which they both have very different ideas. The love for Maralaa, which takes up more and more space in Ze, gradually displaces the ghosts of the ancestors. But the fact that Maralaa then leaves everything behind, including Ze, gives his life a new twist.
