Once again there are townspeople in the mountains: Leyla and Kaveh drive through a mountain landscape with their pretentious SUV. One does not clearly know what their relationship is. As the film progresses, they are at times a married couple, at times siblings, another time they are boss and secretary and at yet another time they are simply friends. They are everything that a man and a woman can be with regard to human and power relations. During their travels they have a rather unusual occupation: they distribute money. Much money, loads of money, plastic bags full of money, more money than the people to whom they give it (sometimes against their will) have ever seen in their meager existence. Leyla and Kaveh are not particularly nice people, neither to each other nor to everyone else. When they aren’t busy with swearing at or insulting each other, then they ridicule the victims of their generosity. The worst thing is that, in the end, absolutely no one can refuse them, no matter what repulsive things they ask for. An epochal, unsettling, intriguing film that succeeds in asking uncomfortable moral and ethical questions in an uncomfortable manner.
