Two recently deceased people are fed up with their existence in the land of shadows. They hope to reach the end of their universe via the Way of St. James in order to find a way into the world of the living. On their journey through inhospitable landscapes, sometimes on horseback, sometimes in a wheelchair, they encounter strange creatures, trees with ears and talking animals.
It is a path of self-examination, on which the two cheerfully philosophize about being. Once you get involved with the unusual initial situation, you will quickly be captivated by the atmospheric, expressive road movie landscape images by cinematographer Eduard Grau (A Single Man). But the irony and surreal humor also make up the magic of this unorthodox film, whose story with dialogues in Russian was only created in the editing room.
